Learning how to surf at Aldo’s Arrifana Surf Lodge was one of the most challenging but fulfilling things I’ve ever done.

In the beginning you practice the technique to stand on the board just on the sand. Then, you work with the instructors to stand on the broke white waves

Once you’re able to stand on the white waves, you may be selected to transition from an intermediate beginner to a beginner intermediate. That means going to the green waves, where you surf the wave before it breaks

Surfing on its own is amazing, but doing it with such energetic and friendly people made it a truly magical experience. Also Portuguese people know their coffee!
