ThruNite Flashlights

ThruNite has some very high quality flashlights and head lamps. They may not handle every use case or be best-in-class for everything, but in terms of durability, functionality, branding, and price, I’m blown away. The packaging comes with replacements, the products are modular and can be customized a little bit, and they have a great range of lighting modes which range from “Firefly” where the light is just dim enough to see in the dark but can stay on for >1 month, all the way to crazy brightness >2000 lumens that needs to cycle down because the flashlight will overheat if that setting is maintained for too long. They keep products up to date, and recharge with USB-C. They also come with warranty for 2-year free replacement and lifetime limited maintenance where cost of parts and freight is on the consumer, but you can still get free repairs on it

Yukon Bags, for example, is one source of this leather. Their products are superb too. The leather should last you a lifetime if taken care of, and looks fantabulously beautiful. I’ve gotten addicted myself, and over time started to “Leather all the Things”! That being said, a wallet and a backpack make a great start. Leather comes in many grades, but when you go for the very best you don’t end up breaking the bank more than what you might imagine. The surface forms a patina and changes color with the environment. It also smells and feels lovely

Sansi Lightbulbs are a must-have if you’re a human and live in a home. Go for the 27W version. Not only do their insane brightness improve mood and quality of life, but they’re ungodly energy efficient as well. Over time, I’ve come to replace not only every bulb in my home, but I’ve literally taken them with my travelling because I don’t like the darkness that it feels whenever I stay in someone else’s home and they have regular plebeian bulbs that inspire mediocrity and sadness

AeroPress + JoePresso Coffee Equipment

Coffee is very personal, but if you want minimal stuff, nothing electric, and maximum control, then the AeroPress is really an excellent option. It is well priced, and I have yet to see one fail the test of time. The device itself is lightweight, small, and portable. Because of its hollow interior, it can even be used for extreme back country camping where every gram and bit of space counts. It takes up much less countertop space than almost any other coffee machine, is quick to clean after a brew, and doesn’t require electricity to run. When using it, you are able to control most of the important variables when brewing coffee. The ground size, water temperature, duration of steeping, usage of a paper or metal filter, and even whether the water gradually runs on the coffee or is suspended with it. This means you can brew almost every style of coffee, except for espresso. For that, I think the JoePresso serves as an incredible alternative, because with this you will get thick crema shots under a reasonable amount of pressure. According to reviewers, it tastes “almost as good” as espresso

In addition, for both of these products, when something fails or does eventually break, they offer the option to purchase replacement parts for that individual component. Always something I like to see from any business!

Hestra Gloves

Hestra Gloves are made by a 1936 Swedish company. They ship to North America and Europe. Their gloves are fully made in-house by some of the best glove makers in europe. I can confirm, these gloves are basically flawless in every way. The fit, color, quality, warmth, feel, and durability are unprecedented. I have had my Tällberg for 3 years; they still feel basically like new despite being used as my only gloves that I own for outdoors

Ernest Wright. Turton Kitchen Scissors, for example, are ones that maybe everyone could use. Their process for making them and time honored traditions are astounding. I won’t repeat it over here, but take a closer look into this company, and you will find some wonderful things

Eiderdown Comforter

This one, for example, is a sensible product. Well, except for the price tag, of course, but eiderdown is as good as it gets.
